Resentment is just about the only thing that really resonates in Celtic societies, something I pointed out in my piece Elizabeth Warren and the Resentful Scots-Irish. It led the Irish to independence in the 1920’s only to fall to dominance to the EU one hundred years later. It is stuff like this why I have given up on Celtic independence on either side of the Atlantic.
